Getting Started

Hi, I'm Rosie.  After returning from my first big trip over two years ago, and not managing to shake the wanderlust, I have managed to wangle a further six month career break from my job as an A&E nurse in the north of England.
This trip will begin in February 2015, which gives me a little time to get organised and start saving some money for my adventures.
I intend the trip to start in the north of India, where I have previously spent time. I hope to revisit Rajasthan and Delhi, and then spend some time at the ghats of the Ganges in Varanasi practicing my (very limited) yoga, before heading to Calcutta and across into Bangladesh.
Permit permitting I plan to then fly from Calcutta to Port Blair, and spend some time exploring the Andaman Islands and relaxing on the perfect beaches.
Diving is apparently some of the best in the world, so I hope to have a few easy dives there to brush up on my rusty scuba skills.  I completed my PADI open water course in Jan 2012 and haven't been since.
After flying back to the mainland and maybe spending a few days investigating the melee of Mumbai, I intend to find my spiritual side in the hippy haven of Hampi, before leaving crazy India for the relative calm and cleanliness of Kuala Lumpur.
Due to the time of year, some of my trip will be restricted because of the rainy/monsoon season.  The East side of Malaysia has the best weather during the months of April, May and June, and also has excellent diving sites- some with shipwrecks to be explored.
Indonesia has many areas left unexplored to me, and I intend to visit Sumatra and Java, to visit the orangutans, and to see the ancient temple site of Borobudur.
Weather, time and money depending, Burma, The Philippines and Singapore are all potential destinations, however much more research and planning is needed before any real plans can be made.
